Advanced Acting
DRA 530 - 3 credits

An experiential exploration of the acting process, focusing on advanced acting techniques and their application to modern, classical and poetic texts. One half of the semester period is taught on camera with an emphasis on the acting process as applied to all genres of film and television texts.

Biography

Theater: Fuerza Bruta (the new show from the creators of De La Guarda). Past credits include: A Raisin in the Sun (B'way), Chicago (B'way and Nat'l Tour), The Dead (B'way and Nat'l Tour), Playwrights Horizons (10 seasons). Also: hundreds of plays Off-Bway, casts for CSC Rep, The Flea, Soho Rep, The Culture Project, Naked Angels, Long Wharf, New Georges, stageFARM, SPF (Summer Play Festival), Epic Theatre, and many seasons for NY Stage & Film. TV: NBC's Lipstick Jungle, A Raisin in the Sun ABC/MOW, also Ed, Monk, Hope & Faith, Angela's Eyes. Film: Upstate, Peter & Vandy (both upcoming), Merchant Ivory's Heights, The White Countess, and the upcoming City of Your Final Destination. Also Lisa Picard is Famous, The Jimmy Show, and Trouble Every Day. Awarded four Artios Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Casting. Member CSA.
